The exact address of the Lichtenfels town hall reads as follows:
You can also get directions via Map24 on the website of the Lichtenfels town hall:
Arrival by car
Since the 1st of January 2008 Lichtenfels is connected to the German autobahn network via A73 Nuremberg - Bamberg (junction to A70) - Lichtenfels, and thanks to the federal highways B173 and B289 it is also easy reaching Lichtenfels from every other direction. Once in Lichtenfels, follow the signs directing towards "Schützenplatz". Please also note the information under "Parking!"
Arrival by train
The train station in Lichtenfels is about ten minutes walking distance away from the festival area. Trains from the directions of Nuremberg, Coburg, Saalfeld, Bamberg/Würzburg and Bayreuth/Hof pass through Lichtenfels at least once every hour. Furthermore the InterCityExpress (ICE, the German high-speed train) on the route Berlin - Nuremberg (- Munich) stops in Lichtenfels every two hours. For time-tables visit the site of the Deutsche Bahn: http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml
Arrival by plane
The nearest international airports are in Nuremberg and Erfurt; bigger international airports with significantly more destinations are located in Frankfurt and Munich, from where you can take the train to Lichtenfels. A complete listing of connections to and from these airports can be found on Wikipedia:
The Schützenplatz that is right in front of the town hall can be used as parking lot without further charges. To ensure that as many people as possible can use this nearby parking opportunity, it is unfortunately no longer possible to camp next to your car. Camping is however possible on the soccer field behind the town hall. And of course it is possible to sleep in your car. Furthermore, all orders by the security guards, traffic guides and the police are to be followed.
On the banks of the river Main, neither parking nor camping is permitted.
If you want to camp, you need a camping ticket (for each person). You can order it at the online shop or buy it at the box office at the festival. We do not demand a waste deposit, but appeal to you to keep your battlefield clean and hand your filled waste bags over to the waste return (see times above).
Toilets and showers are available at the camping ground.
The camping ground is not trafficable by car, bus, trailer or any other vehicle.
Ragnarök Festival distances itself from political, ideological and religious extremism of all kinds, especially right-wing extremism and neo-Nazism. Executing gestures and wearing symbols which violate Germany's constitution will be punished without warning and will result in a ban from the festival and the parking/camping area.
Furthermore the security guards have been ordered to refuse entry to anyone wearing shirts of NSBM and/or RAC bands. The guards will receive a special instruction beforehand and will be supported by insiders of the scene. Still it is possible that some issues might go unnoticed. In these cases we appeal to your courage and ask you to bring the wrongdoings of others to the security guards' attention.
Prohibitions and restrictions
Weapons, fireworks, glass objects and open fire are strictly forbidden! The same applies of course to firearms and any other weaponry.
Unauthorized trading of any kind is forbidden in the whole festival area.
Every visitor is allowed to bring 0,5 L of water or any other non-alcoholic beverage in a tetra pak into the festival area.

It is allowed to bring beverages without any limit to the campground. Allowed are plastic bottles, drinks cans, jerry cans and tetra paks, but NO glass bottles or containers due to the high accident hazard. Also prohibited are open fire, fireworks and other pyrotechnical devices and weapons. Please only use grills, griddle pans and torches.
Outside of the festival area
Due to a by-law by the magistrate of the town Lichtenfels consuming alcohol outside of the festival area is only allowed in restaurants and beer gardens.
Smoking is not allowed inside of the town hall. It is however possible to smoke in the open air area right in front of the town hall without having to leave the festival area.
The orders by the security guards are to be followed. Every guard wears an identification number; if you feel you are treated unjustly or have any complaints about the security guards, you can contact the security or festival management.
Protection of minors
We abide to the laws regarding the protection of minors. Therefore the following regulations are in force:
Children under the age of 8 years will not be allowed to attend the event, not even in company of a legal guardian (generally the parents). Only the stay on the campground in company of a legal guardian is permitted.
Children between 8 and 14 years may attend the event only in company of a legal guardian.
Youths between 14 and 16 years may attend the event only in company of a legal guardian or a person assigned as legal guardian.
Youths between 16 and 18 years may attend the event without company only until 12 a.m. Afterwards they will have to leave the festival area unless they are in company of a legal guardian or a person assigned as legal guardian.
Here the form for assigning a third person as legal guardian:
According to the legal regulation regarding the sale of alcoholic drinks § 9 JuSchG (laws regarding the protection of minors) we are not allowed to and we will not sell alcoholic beverages to children.
We may sell alcoholic beverages of low ABV, i.e. beer and radler, to youths in company of a legal guardian or a person assigned as legal guardian.
Access to the bar is generally prohibited for children and youths, even in company of a legal guardian or a person assigned as legal guardian.
Selling beer, wine and sparkling wine to children and youths under the age of 16 years is only allowed in company of a legal guardian (§ 9 Abs. 2 JuSchG) - NOT in company of a third person assigned as legal guardian.

Lost & Found
Lost property can be turned in at the festival office. Such property will be declared via the information system (i.e. poster or projector) and can be picked up throughout the festival. After the festival the property will be given to the lost & found office of the town Lichtenfels where it can be retrieved.
Our partner Metal.de Magazine will organize autograph sessions with the bands of the festival.
The metal market is located in a tent in front of the Stadthalle where you can purchase merchandise of all your favourite bands.
People who are at least 50% handicapped (according to §§ 68 ff SGB IX, Germany's laws regarding severely handicapped people) and possess a corresponding pass or a certificate about the degree of their handicap may assign an assistant who will have free entry to the festival.
Unfortunately we cannot offer entry to the closed-off area in front of the stage to wheelchair users, but there is an elevated gallery from which one has very good sight onto the stage. Because there is no elevator the wheelchair (and its user) might have to be carried a few steps. If there are any other precautions to be met (e.g. storage of medicine, etc.) or if you require our help, please contact us beforehand under the address given under "Contact/Imprint."
