Getting there
The exact address of the Lichtenfels town hall reads as follows:
Schießanger 1
96215 Lichtenfels
Germany
You can also get directions via Map24 on the website of the Lichtenfels town hall:
http://stadthalle.lichtenfels-city.de/index.php?id=0,185
Arrival by car
Since the 1st of January 2008 Lichtenfels is connected to the German autobahn network via A73 Nuremberg - Bamberg (junction to A70) - Lichtenfels, and thanks to the federal highways B173 and B289 it is also easy reaching Lichtenfels from every other direction. Once in Lichtenfels, follow the signs directing towards "Schützenplatz". Please also note the information under "Parking!"
Arrival by train
The train station in Lichtenfels is about ten minutes walking distance away from the festival area. Trains from the directions of Nuremberg, Coburg, Saalfeld, Bamberg/Würzburg and Bayreuth/Hof pass through Lichtenfels at least once every hour. Furthermore the InterCityExpress (ICE, the German high-speed train) on the route Berlin - Nuremberg (- Munich) stops in Lichtenfels every two hours. For time-tables visit the site of the Deutsche Bahn: http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml
Arrival by plane
The nearest international airports are in Nuremberg and Erfurt; bigger international airports with significantly more destinations are located in Frankfurt and Munich, from where you can take the train to Lichtenfels. A complete listing of connections to and from these airports can be found on Wikipedia:

Parking
The Schützenplatz that is right in front of the town hall can be used as parking lot without further charges. To ensure that as many people as possible can use this nearby parking opportunity, it is unfortunately no longer possible to camp next to your car. Camping is however possible on the soccer field behind the town hall. And of course it is possible to sleep in your car. Furthermore, all orders by the security guards, traffic guides and the police are to be followed.
On the banks of the river Main, neither parking nor camping is permitted.
Camping
If you want to camp, you need a camping ticket (for each person). You can order it at the online shop or buy it at the box office at the festival. We do not demand a waste deposit, but appeal to you to keep your battlefield clean and hand your filled waste bags over to the waste return (see times above).
Toilets and showers are available at the camping ground.
The camping ground is not trafficable by car, bus, trailer or any other vehicle.
Housing/Accommodation
See "Housing."
Right-wing extremism
Ragnarök Festival distances itself from political, ideological and religious extremism of all kinds, especially right-wing extremism and neo-Nazism. Executing gestures and wearing symbols which violate Germany's constitution will be punished without warning and will result in a ban from the festival and the parking/camping area.
Furthermore the security guards have been ordered to refuse entry to anyone wearing shirts of NSBM and/or RAC bands. The guards will receive a special instruction beforehand and will be supported by insiders of the scene. Still it is possible that some issues might go unnoticed. In these cases we appeal to your courage and ask you to bring the wrongdoings of others to the security guards' attention.

Due to a by-law by the magistrate of the town Lichtenfels consuming alcohol outside of the festival area is only allowed in restaurants and beer gardens.

Handicaps
People who are at least 50% handicapped (according to §§ 68 ff SGB IX, Germany's laws regarding severely handicapped people) and possess a corresponding pass or a certificate about the degree of their handicap may assign an assistant who will have free entry to the festival.
Unfortunately we cannot offer entry to the closed-off area in front of the stage to wheelchair users, but there is an elevated gallery from which one has very good sight onto the stage. Because there is no elevator the wheelchair (and its user) might have to be carried a few steps. If there are any other precautions to be met (e.g. storage of medicine, etc.) or if you require our help, please contact us beforehand under the address given under "Contact/Imprint."
